Why not join us in our enjoyment, fun and charity work whilst singing in a quality chamber choir that sings a very varied repertoire?
A rare opportunity has opened up for a tenor, and a second bass to join our choir.
Sopranos and altos are warmly invited to join our waiting list.
Apart from the obvious requirements of singing in tune and blending well, you need to have reasonable sight reading skills. We perform a very wide repertoire so you must be able to go through material at home. You need to be available for rehearsals, usually on the 1st and 3rd Thursday night of the month, with some extra Thursday nights thrown in. There is a good break in summer. We have a more intense bank of rehearsals between January and March to set up the year’s repertoire. The repertoire in each concert is adjusted as we go. There are around 12 concerts a year, currently all around Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire so ability to travel is essential.
As might be expected with a choir that aims for a high standard, there is an audition process where you are required to sing a prepared song of choice. A few exercises scales, arpeggios and sight reading.
If all is well you are invited to come to some rehearsals, (given some music to enable you to prepare in advance what we are rehearsing). If you are still keen to join us and we are keen for you to be part of the choir there is a short probationary period which includes at least two concerts, which quickly becomes permanent if all goes well.
